Observation: The highlight of today’s ride was the promise of a new park for Detroit. The city is trying to buy the long since abandoned Rogell Golf Course and after spending 30 minutes exploring it, I can say confidently say it’s just beautiful. If someone dropped you in the middle of it and let you wander around, you would just assume you were in upper Michigan someplace in a mixed field/forest area with wildflowers all around. The 120-acre parcel would really not need much work to become another gem in the city’s park system, so I’m looking forward to revisiting it in the coming years.

D-Fact: Detroit has never hosted a PGA, Professional Golfers’ Association, event in its 118-year history, but all that will change in 2019 when it will be hosting an event for four straight years.
