Observation:  Locals often talk about 8 Mile being the great divide between struggling Detroit and the flourishing suburbs, but in reality, that exists within the Detroit city walls as well.  On one of side of Woodward you have Pemrose with block after block of burnt out and abandoned houses, and on the other side, you have Palmer Woods with gorgeous, well-manicured, million dollar homes.  No blend, no slow transition…just one side completely different than the other, almost as if they lived through different times.
