Observation:  One of the biggest challenges in this project is backtracking.  I don’t spend hours figuring out the shortest possible route.  I usually just pick a new area of the city, select a “corner” of that area and begin.  I do some basic mapping in my head as I ride, and I’m sure some kind of traffic engineer or urban planner could trim some miles off, but in the end, backtracking is just a necessary evil I must live/ride with.

D-Fact:  The D is also home to WWJ (formerly 8MK), thought to be the first radio station to broadcast regular news reports. It went on air in 1920.
