Observation: While today’s ride didn’t uncover a lot of art, it did provide some interesting moments, some good and some bad. The worst was watching a man throw what I thought was a log over a high fence, only to realize he was actually throwing his dog over and slinging it just from its collar. I heard the dog yelp but then saw it run off seemingly fine. I’m sure that is not the first time that animal got that treatment…nor the last. On a lighter note, I was approached by a hooker at 8am who I could tell had just woke-up and was coming back from the store with her coffee. It was comical to me, and I guess some people are just always on duty. I also ran into a donut shop in a really bad section of town and was happy to see it still surviving in an area where almost no businesses were. And finally, I had another situation where a church security guard asked me what I was doing, and when I told him he said he would keep an eye on my car for me while I was out riding. Those moments always make me smile.
