Observation: It’s interesting how I go into all these abandoned structures and can see people spent a lot of time pulling metal out to sell as scrap; some of it being large/heavy items, but often just small things that do not seem like they would be worth it. On the flip side, I can rarely think of ever seeing any street signs missing in Detroit, which kind of amazes me after 1,000 miles of riding. I know it’s government property and sure the penalty is stiffer, but with tens of thousands of them, I’m pleasantly surprised that it has not become a scrap metal “option” at some point.

D-Fact: In 1899, William E. Metzger helped organize the first Detroit Auto Show, only the second of its kind in the world. It has moved and evolved over the years, and in 1987 it became the official North American International Auto Show which still exists today.
